Final Images- Vinage Shoot

Heres my final fashion story! We finally narrowed it down to 4 out of what feel like 100's. We have edited them a little bit making the colours stronger and putting a grain effect over the top of them as this aims it more toward sour target audience. Im happy with the outcome from the shoot and I would happily do it all over again, YAY. I hope you all like.

As I mentioned in a previous post this weekend I went down to London. I had a really good time even the though the horrid weather was out to get me on Saturday. I got up to loads of exciting things and even managed to chuck in a few festive activities so now I'm super excited for Christmas! While i was there I stayed with my cousin so it was really nice to catch up with her. I visited a few places I have wanted to go and of course I didn't miss out Oxford Street (it wouldn't be a complete visit if I didn't go to Topshop). So yer I'm sooo tired now but iv got a few posts lined up all about my visit, so keep your eyes peeled for them.

The main aim of this outfit was to be comfy as I had a busy day a head of me, going to lost of places and I also needed it to be suitable for the evening as well because I didn't want to have to go home and get changed, I really like this skirt as it's really Christmasy and have a great shape to it. Also this jumper is not my usual choice because it's so fluffy and just looks like it's going to make you look 20x times bigger than u actually are but it doesn't! It's actually really flattering and I think it's a good mixture of materials.

Style crush- The Olsen Twins

I will never ever be able to decide which of these two is my favourite! After rummaging through all my Elle magazine issues I found my favourite issue of all time and these two feature on the cover. I just love how chic they are and their style is just incredible, laid back and still can pull off anything. Them both having their own label (The Row) just puts the icing on the cake. These two sisters are a true inspiration, I will never get bored of spotting them on the front row!!

Lily Vintage

Before I reveal my final outcomes from the Photo shoot I have to mention where I got all our beautiful vintage garments from.

So first of all when we first set out doing this task me and my partner gathered together a few vintages pieces that we had, which led to the conclusion there wasn't enough to build and outfit with or even piece them together. So we thought HMM what to do and we came up with the super duper idea of visiting our local vintage shop to see if they would join forces with us and thankfully they agreed! 


The staff were ever so nice and helpful and let us dig out exactly what we wanted and needed. They had endless amounts of garments from tie dye t-shirts, to Levis, to fur coats.. It was like a vintage haven! The shop we went to is called, Lily Vintage and is based on Bridge Street, Chester. They cater for both men and women and have anything from the 1920′s right through to the 1980′s. I really do recommend this vintage shop, whether you are just looking for an on trend wooly jumper or your after a well made vintage dress!

Vintage shoot

Today we shot our pictures for our vintage shoot! It was so much fun and I really enjoyed it. Overall I think it went really well we got some strong outcomes, we did face a few problems like the batteries died in the camera so out came the spear ones, the skies decided to open half way through the shoot and being outside was not where we wanted to be and we forgot the red lipstick! But hey ho we found away around all these problems and carried on like true soldiers.

We choose our story to be based on love (aww) and the setting to be the nearest train station. which then to the idea of it being based on a woman whose partner has left and she's waiting for the train to return. we got ideas from the Match.com advert and the film It's A Wonderful Life, as this film is in black and white our final pictures will be considered to be done in black and white.

Stylist inspiration

So far as I've been going through my briefs I have been thinking about the parts I have enjoyed most and considering them as job roles for the future, because I have no clue on what I want to do after college besides go to uni.

In fashion you don't just have to a 'fashion designer', theres sooooooo much more you can do which is my problem! I don't know which part I would best at or enjoy more importantly. At the we are looking as stylists and I have found myself very interested in this role so I'm going to try and get some work experience to gain an insight to what it's really like!

From analysing some stylists work I have narrowed down some of my favourites. In particularly I like Francesca Burns, Camille Bidout Waddington, Katie Shillingford, Jane How, Sophie Cooper. My list could go on and on!
