CAD DRAWING

As part of my CAD we had to draw around two different types of fashion figures, one being straight and the other focusing more on the legs for trousers and length. Here is my straight figure….

BRAIN SLEEVES- V&A LONDON

Conveying a Brain on the stand

Here I used a thick weight jersey fabric to create lots of knots and then knotted them all together to create this shape. I feel it works well conveying the brain as it has the right twists and texture also has lots of volume which really appeals to me and my T/A.

THE HUMAN BRAIN

Last week I managed to squeeze in a photo shoot for my sustainability garment ready for my portfolio. I am really happy with the outcome because it looks so crisp against the background and the photos show so much detail which works really well.

Here is a poster for my college Fashion Show I created using my own images on photoshop...

Sustainable Collection Illustrations

In college my latest brief has been based on sustainability and designing a capsule collection (which seems like ages ago!). For my current brief I had to put together a concept board and 4 illustration board to go with my collection. My collection I designed was for the Visionary design Martin Margiela and had a masculine feel to it. For my illustration boards I had to aim them at two different target customers so I chose Visionary and Ready-To-Wear (R-T-W).

MY COLLECTION

VISIONARY ILLUSTRATIONS

These two boards I feel worked really well in the style I chose to work in. I created layers using different medias to create a texture I felt was right for my collection. I really enjoyed collaberating different medias together as I am happy with my outcome. The garments were photocopied versions of my collection as I wanted to create a 'jigsaw' like look to the garments. I also incorporated stitch into sticking them back together. Overall I really like my two boards as I believe they fit into my target market and convey the style I was going for.

R-T-W ILLUSTRATIONS

When it came to my R-W-T boards I just wanted to water my Visionary ones done a little bit a I felt the style worked with my collection. To convey texture for this target audience I added acrylic paint to the background in a salmon pink colour, this brings colour through in the illustrations and still works with my collection, I found these two boards harder than my visionary boards as I had to have limits on what I could do rather than go wild like in my other boards. Overall I am happy with my outcome and think the 4 boards work well as a collection!

I think doing this brief has allowed me to experiment more with my drawing skills and develop them further and I really like how my designs are conveyed in this format.
