Photo shoot

The other day in college me and a couple of the girls decided we would go in to college and get some work done ahead of next year, putting that to one side me and Jen made this video of a photo shoot she did before we broke up for summer and I just think it looks soooo good.

I think the music it back ground really sets a good contemporary vibe, also Jen you look good! haha. It was pretty simple how we made as all we did was open the shoot photos into iPhoto and flick through them quickly whilst playing the song in the background on YouTube.

FMP illustration

So this is my illustration for my deconstructed box dress, My target audience is visionary and I am very happy with the outcome of my work.

I feel that the use of a diverse range of medias really fits well with my garment as I have a number of different fabrics combined together. Also I think that the figure I have used, which is sketchy and loose really gives my garment a stylish approach which is great for my target audience. Adding in the photography and fabric was taken from my research and sketch book and I think it ties the whole illustration together and gives it a personal touch.

As my target customer is a visionary audience It really means I could of gone wild but I feel my illustration conveys my garment to a good standard and you can really see the resemblance, overall I am very pleased with my final illustration!!

FITTINGS WEEK

Giles Deacon

Today I fitted my final dress and it fit perfect! The colour also really really suited the model which I was extremely pleased about. Im going to style her with some bright and funky socks and some glittery jelly shoes which I think will look good and she will be able to pull of.

FITTINGS WEEK
FMP/Shirt dress

My fmp dress is going to be styled with a nude leotard underneath  and with some simple strappy shoes, I am also going to create some cuffs to be styled around her ankles so it continues with my deconstruction theme. One thing I have noticed from fittings is I need to make sure the dressers place my garment on straight and so that you cant notice any of the stucturers frame underneith .. or that might just be me being fussy!!!

My denim shirt dress fit the model perfectly! All I need to adjust is the buttons and add a couple more, Im just going to style it how I did for my photo shoot using a packet of cigarettes and my heeled boots but I cant decided if I should use the denim jacket of not??

GFW

Yesterday I headed down to London for Graduate Fashion Week as me and a couple of other girls from college got invited to watch the Manchester School of Arts show! So we were all pretty excited. The weather was so nice yesterday down in London so we decided we would do a little bit of shopping on Oxford Street before we hit Earls Court, the obvious question is did we go to Topshop? Durrrrr.. it would be rude not too! After lusting over nearly everything in the boutique section we called it a day and went to our final destination and Im so glad we went early on in the day as there was so much do and see especially for people in our precision (e.g. people who cant make there mind up on uni and what they want to do), It was basically like a giant UCAS fair but with all fashion courses and I found it really helped and benefited me seeing graduates work and speaking to them, It made me realise what is actually out there...

The Manchester show was really good and was my first ever real fashion show which made it was even better, I even spotted Susie Bubble sat opposite us which obviosuly meant I have to chuck in a Tweet or two in whilest there haha.

The show consisted of lots of bright bold colours, textured fabrics and knit wear whilst some people opted for the more structured garments which were my favourites of the show. I found it really interesting seeing the mens wear and how diverse it actually is!!! It really fascinates me and makes me struggle even more with the decision on what to do and where to go... all I know is I want to design and see my garments on the catwalk!

Overall I recommend Graduate week to everyone who is looking to go to uni or just wants an insight to the Fashion world! Also Manchester School of Arts Fashion show is a must see as there work is so diverse and creative you would be silly to miss it out and I would LOVE to go back next year.
